Illawarra Flame Tree (Brachychiton acerifolius). This tree though not native to our area is spectacular when in bloom. The leaves fall off totally and it covers itself in flame coloured flowers. Native to New South Wales. I found this one at Anderson Park, though they are dotted through the city. They do well, but are susceptible to falling over when our cyclones turn up.
